What is the "Emptiness"? 1. "Emptiness" is a major topic in Mahāyāna Buddhism. "Emptiness", or Sanskrit "Śūnyatā", is a major topic in Mahāyāna Buddhism. Famous Heart Sutra  is all about this "Emptiness". It is explained in the Sutra (Translated by  Max Müller , 1894 version) as below: Sariputra! Form does not differ from Sunyata, nor Sunyata from form. Form is identical to Sunyata, and Sunyata is identical to form. So also are reception (vedana), conception (sanjna), mental conduct (samskara) and consciousness (vijnana) in relation to Sunyata. Sariputra, the Sunyata nature of all things is neither created nor annihilated; neither impure nor pure; and neither increasing nor decreasing.  "Form" is Sanskrit " Rūpa ". " Rūpa " have another meaning "material". It says " Śūnyatā is identical to Rūpa ." Okay then, what is Śūnyatā and Rūpa ? Why don't we check what it looks like? Let'...

1. What is the bodhi ? The bodhi is the ultimate goal all Buddhism trainees long. The Buddha claims "I once was a bodhisattva , but I become a buddha with achieving the  saṃbodhi (bodhi-completion)". On Vimalakīrtinirdeṣa §3.48-53, Vimalakīrti gives a teaching on what the bodhi is, and how can it achieved from the Mahāyāna Buddhism perspective. According to  Vimalakīrtinirdesa (Text from GRETIL project), Vimalakirti talked to Bodhisattvas: Bodhisattvas: "Tell me, what dharma does the Sakyamuni buddha, teach? Vimalakirti: "Oh, Sons of good families, dwellers are hard to guide. Thus, he, the Sakyamuni buddha, teaches them the story for hard to control violent people." Bodhisattvas: "What is that like, the control, or the story?"
